Baltic seaside resort Sellin

Water hiking rest area Sellin
For the 2018 season, a new water hiking rest area was built on the northern shore of Lake Sellin. The old bulwark was completely redesigned. 80 berths were created as well as landing stages for two passenger ships. In addition, a sanitary building, a harbour master's office, an excursion restaurant and holiday flats were created. From Lake Sellin you can reach the Having, a bay in the Rügen Bodden, via the Baaber Bek.

The Friedensberg
Less well known, but still worth a visit, is the Friedensberg in Wilhelmstraße. If you walk in the direction of the pier, you will find the stairway to the Friedensberg spa park on the left side of the road next to the fish restaurant "Zum Skipper". Numerous information boards explain the mysticism and power of this special place. A visit is definitely worthwhile, as the Friedensberg place of power exudes deep tranquillity and uplifting energy.

Brief description

The Baltic resort of Sellin is a municipality on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen is administered by the Amt Mönchgut-Granitz with its headquarters in the municipality of Baabe.
The Baltic seaside resort of Sellin lies to the east of an extensive coastal high forest (the Granitz) at the connection to the Mönchgut peninsula in the south-east of Rügen. Another special feature is that Sellin lies on the Baltic Sea and on Lake Sellin, which is connected to the Greifswald Bodden on the west side of Mönchgut via the bay of Having. Along with Binz and Göhren, Sellin is one of the most important seaside resorts on the island of Rügen. The districts of the municipality, apart from Sellin, are Altensien, Moritzdorf, Neuensien and Seedorf. Sellin and Baabe form a common basic centre for their surroundings.
